Artificial intelligence at Smart im Netz

We use artificial intelligence in a few places — for example when preparing texts for our courses. Here we explain calmly where that is the case and where it is not. You should know exactly where you stand with us.

What is artificial intelligence?

Artificial intelligence — usually shortened to “AI” — is a computer program that can write texts and create images. It learned this from a great many examples. Such a program is a big help, but it can also be wrong. That is why a human always checks our content before it goes on the site.

Texts in the courses and guides

For our courses and guide articles we have AI write the first drafts. Every text is then read, revised and approved by a human. Only then do we publish it. Wherever AI helped with the draft, you will find a short note at the end of the text.

Images on our pages

Some of our images — especially in the glossary — were created on a computer using AI. These images do not show real people or real places. They are meant to illustrate a term, not to depict an actual situation.

Translations

Our site is available in German, English, Turkish and Polish. The German texts are the original. The translations were produced by machine. If something reads oddly, please look at the German version — and let us know.

Where we do not use AI

We do not rely on AI for security topics. Our scam alerts and safety recommendations come from people and are based on official sources such as the police, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and consumer advice centres. The sandbox is ordinary programming too — no AI answers you there, just a fixed practice sequence.

Your data and AI

What you enter here and what you learn is not used to train artificial intelligence — neither by us nor by anyone else. You can read more about this in our privacy policy.

Who is responsible

The operator holds editorial responsibility for all content on this site — regardless of whether AI was involved in the first draft. You will find who that is in the imprint.

Legal background

This page informs you about our use of AI within the meaning of Article 50 of the European Union’s AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689). We deliberately go further than the law requires of us.
